The Men of Sigma Chi would like to thank the Men of Kappa Sigma for allowing us to play them in their 11th Charity Classic. This event raised $60,000 for the Catch-A-Dream Foundation with the Men of Sigma Chi contributing an initial $6000 to play and an additional $2500-$4000 in gameday ticket sales. All these monetary contributions will go to grant the wishes of terminally ill children. For both fraternities the event can be declared a huge success. The final score of the 2008 gridiron battle:

On Saturday, April 5th, 2008 at 2pm the Men of Sigma Chi will once again take on the Men of Kappa Sigma in the 11th Annual Charity Classic, a full-contact football game. "Charity Bowl," as the event is known, is the Kappa Sigs main philanthropic event during the year. All proceeds from this event benefit the Catch-A-Dream Foundation, the same charity that we at Gamma Upsilon support during Derby Week.
The Men of Sigma Chi are already hard at work in the gym and on the practice field so that they may once again defeat the Kappa Sigmas. This years game should prove to be a fantastic event, with the event being held at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field on the campus of Mississippi State University. For those brothers who are not participating in the game, the chapter will be hosting a BBQ cookout during prior to kickoff on game day.
The Men of Sigma Chi have also been working hard to raise charity dollars so that they may further assist the Kappa Sigmas in their cause. This year, the Men of Sigma Chi will donate an additional $6000 to the Catch-A-Dream Foundation (this money is on top of the over $50,000 that Gamma Upsilon will donate through Derby Days).
